Is it ok for me to leave tapers in for 2 weeks if i dont have the plugs for that size?

im at a 0g right now, but i only have the tapers i borrowed from a friend. so im wondering if its alright to have the tapers in for the healing period till im ready to go up again. I just went to minneapolis and bought 00g 7/16g and 1/2" g tapers which all come with repective plugs. im also wondering if theres something i can use to make the stretch a little less painfull, i have no problem with pain but the 00g - 7/16g is looking a little intimidating haha. and honestly the stretching is worse then getting pierced and ive got 14 piercings. PA ftw.
