What can I do for my pet's hair loss?

My dog is 9 years old and since she was a puppy our tile floor looks like a carpet, however she has never had bald spots or a thin coat, her coat looks great, I would prefer if I got a specific answer and not "I have heard people say..." because I love her so much that I made my mom pay $500 (when we could not afford it) to bring her from Cuba. I would not like to experiment on her, I would just prefer to sweep my house daily than harm her.
