Potty training, should I not worry about the mess?

I am thinking of trying naked potty training with my 2 and a half yr old daughter. I am a sahm so I was thinking just strip her down and put her potty in front of her and tell if she has to go pee pee go pee pee in the potty. There will be a lot of accidents and having pee all over the couch and carpet doesn't sound good to me, lots of cleaning and we just got a new couch. So, should I just shrug it off and deal with the messes for the sake of the bigger picture?
