Is Diatomaceous Earth dangerous for humans?

i had bed bugs in my room. its a small room. and i managed to get rid of some however i read about this dust that could kill them if there were any left so i went to lowes and bought this diatomaceous earth bag and spread the poweder in the crevices of my wall and all over my carpet at the beginning my tv and my lap top got dusty then i used the vaccum a little bit because i thought it was too much but i guess it only made the dust fly all over my room which was good since i want to prevent those bed bugs from coming to me again so i put some more under my bed and on top of the bed spring and then i put the mattress. Yesterday i put a little more .... all of this without wearing a mask now what i want to know is if it would harm me in any way....today i woke up feeling sick but i hadnt felt sick since the first day i put it its been 3 weeks and im just today i felt sick..my chest hurt like congestion and my head and ears but it feels like a cold however, im scared that maybe its the dust? idk someone help and explain! pleasee thank you.
